Betty L. Gordon, 82, passed from this life and was welcome into eternal life Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 www.alz.org/join_the_cause_donate.asp Betty was born April 15, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, to Margaret and Clarence Sutherlin. She married John A. Gordon, January 22, 1949 and was married 49 - ½ years at his death. Together they raised seven children. As she said, "I had seven beautiful and successful children." She was a housewife that lived for her children and grandchildren. Betty moved to Texas in 1982 with her husband, John, for his work. A few years after his death, she moved to Illinois to live with her loving and caring daughter, Linda for 5 years. But she never lost the love for Texas and wanted to come back. So a year and a half ago her daughter, Diane, moved her back to finish her life's journey in the State of Texas that she loved. She truly enjoyed the weather and her friends in Texas. The Family would like to thank the Sterling House in Watauga for their care of their mother until June. Especially Blake which she called the "nice lady" as she could not remember her name. She was then moved to Lexington Place Nursing Home in Richland Hills. The family would like to thank them for the love and care that she received there. Especially Bernadette that our mom called daughter. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and baby brother.
