ELMER DAVIS

November 4, 1932 - March 2, 2008

FORT WORTH -- Elmer Malcolm Davis, 75, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, died peacefully Sunday morning, March 2, 2008. Memorial service: 7 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way. The Rev. Dr. Ronald K. Heimsoth, pastor of the church, will officiate. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church for the Children's Center, in Elmer's memory, is suggested. A native of Springfield, Minn., Elmer was born Nov. 4, 1932, the son of Clarence Earl and Clara Moody Davis. He married Janet Wild on Nov. 10, 1953. Janet preceded him in death on Oct. 10, 2005. Elmer and Janet, with their family, moved to Fort Worth where he went to work for Crown Plastic Cup Co. In 1964, he became a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1997. He had a great love for children and reading history. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Survivors: His sons, Randall and his wife, Debbie, of Decatur, and Jon of Garden City, Ks.; daughters, Alisa Carnes of Temple and Elena Boone and her husband, Dan, of Augusta, Ga.; grandchildren, Zachary and Austin Davis, Angela Smith, Lauren and Christopher Carnes, and Katherine and Virginia Boone; great-granddaughters, Lillian and Alina Melcer; sisters, Patricia Davis Kirkpatrick, Marilyn Davis Sly, Marjorie Davis Simon and Roberta Davis Duroe and her husband, Tuck; and several nieces and nephews.
