Hap was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Janie Leone Griffith Howard; and sisters, Bonnie and Dorothy. Survivors: Wife of 25 years, Emilie Howard; children, Edith, Ingeborg, Lucho, Freddie, Steve and Scott; siblings, Wilma, Bill and Bob; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
