NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Hazel Lee Avants, 83, a retired pharmacist assistant, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007, with her family at her side. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday in Lucas Chapel, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Burial: Following the services Hazel will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Hazel spent 27 years with North Richland Drug Store. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Della Epps; brother, O.T. Epps; and sister, Louise Schmittou. Survivors: Husband of 62 years, Owen H. Avants; daughter, Barbara Ann Akers; grandson, Rick Akers and his fiancee, Margaret Horrell; brother, Darrell Epps; numerous cousins and other relatives; and a host of friends.
