COLLEYVILLE -- John Chauvet Parker, 79, went to be with his Lord on Sunday March 25, 2007, from complications of a bone marrow disorder. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Friday at Birdville Baptist Church, 3141 Carson, Haltom City. The Rev. Tom Howe, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Dwaine Greene. Burial: Following committal service John will be laid to rest in Smithfield Cemetery, North Richland Hills. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road. John was born Sept. ll, 1927, in Biloxi, Miss., to Lloyd and Lucille Parker. He moved his family to the Fort Worth area in the late 1940s, where he established Parker Refrigeration Service. He was owner-operator of this premier business for over 40 years. His hallmark was the excellence of his work, and he left a trail of satisfied clients. John was an avid reader and gun collector. He studied the different war eras and matched his gun collection to each period. He was totally dedicated to his family. John was preceded in death by his parents; aunt, Melanie Herring; and his first wife, Frances. Survivors: Left to mourn his death and hold alive his memory forever are his wife of 40 years, Dorothy; children, John Chauvet Parker Jr. and his wife, Cristine, JoAnn Fry, Melanie Haws and her husband, Buster, Michelle Morvan and her husband, Mike; he was the very proud grandfather of Matthew Gilbert, Landon, Ashley and Adam Parker, Jordan and Harvey Frye, Jennifer Chauvette Brown, Aaron and Amie Morvan; brother, Lloyd August Parker and his wife, Kathryn; sister-in-law, Loraine Baldwin; a number of nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Angel and Killian, who still expect him to walk into their room.
