Opal Daughtry

September 11, 1908 - December 7, 2007

HALTOM CITY -- Opal Ollen Daughtry, 99, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at a local care center. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Lucas Hurst Chapel. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Opal, the daughter of William and Willie Boyett Orbison, was born Sept. 11, 1908, in Mangum, Okla. She came to Texas with her family in a covered wagon. She was a member of Haltom City Church of Christ and a former member of Baker Boulevard Church of Christ. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Earl Daughtry. Survivors: Sons, Keneth and his wife, Lorene, Billy, Bobby and his wife, Joann, Boyd and his wife, Hilda; daughter, Joyce and her husband, Roger Fernandez; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
