Richard “Rick” Boyd

November 30, 1947 - April 13, 2006

Richard E. Boyd, 58, a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, April 13, 2006. ??? Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Blessing Colonial Chapel, 401 Elm St., Mansfield. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Mansfield. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Blessing Funeral Home. ??? Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to PLAN of North Texas which provides care for patients with neurobiological disorders. (www.plan-northtexas.org). ??? Rick struggled valiantly with severe depression for over 20 years, but he has now left the pain and suffering to be with our Lord, where there is only peace and joy. ??? He was born Nov. 30, 1947, to Paul and Louise Boyd in Monahans. He chose to be baptized at an early age and had a deep faith and love for God. ??? He was a Vietnam-era Army veteran and served in Germany. ??? On April 15, 1978, Rick married the love of his life, Juanita Marie Hunstable and together they raised a beautiful daughter, Amanda Marie. ??? He will be greatly missed by both his family of birth and his family of love. He was known for his loving and giving spirit, his tender heart and his dry sense of humor. ??? Rick was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Christina Marie; and nephew, Nathan Paul. ??? Survivors: His best friend and wife of 28 years, Nita; his daughter, Amanda, who was the joy of his life and her fianc?, Brian Holcomb; cherished parents, Paul and Louise Boyd; beloved parents-in-law, Fred and Juanita Hunstable; devoted sister, Linda; brother, Roger; his much-loved extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.
