VERA HICKS MALLOW

June 15, 1913 - September 10, 2007

FORT WORTH -- Vera Marie Hicks Mallow, 94, died peacefully Monday morning, Sept. 10, 2007. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in Chapel of the Chimes, located in Laurel Land Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. James Bass of Travis Avenue Baptist Church will officiate. Following committal services, Vera will be laid to rest next to her husband, Marshall. Visitation: Mrs. Mallow will lie in state on Wednesday in the Drawing Room at Robertson Mueller Harper from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Her family will receive friends Thursday immediately following the chapel service. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to Travis Avenue Baptist Church or to a charity of one's choice, in memory of Vera, is suggested. A native of Magnolia, Vera was born June 15, 1914, the daughter of J. H. and Pearl Brantley Brisbon. Her husband, Marshall B. Hicks died in 1969. Vera was a deeply spiritual, Christian woman. She was a member of Travis Avenue Baptist Church where she attended the Peacemakers Class and taught Sunday School. Her vocation was as a L.V.N. Survivors: her sons, Jim Williams of Denver, Colo., and Gary Hicks of Austin; grandchildren, Cheryl Hooten, Traci Tomlin and Scott Williams; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Verna Putney of Fort Worth.
