Melanie Killman

On July 31, 1954 in Vernal, Utah, Billee and Rubel Killman were blessed with the birth of their daughter Melanie Rae Killman. Melanies childhood years were spent in Colorado as well as Midland, Texas followed by a move to Duncan, Oklahoma in 1968. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1973. She went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where among many other things she learned to sky dive. She later moved to Dallas to begin a career with the Richardson Police Department as a dispatcher where she was the calm voice on the end of many emergency calls. An automobile accident forced a midlife career change. Most recently she enjoyed a job with great co-workers at Georgia-Pacific in Denton working as a sales representative. She also had a weekend job at Valor Farms where she loved spending time outdoors and with animals. Her love of animals led her to move to the Pilot Point and Aubrey area where she and her beloved animals had room to spread out. She rescued, cared for, and loved many animals, her kids, throughout her life. Her giving nature was not limited to animals. She was the friend you called when you needed to move, to talk, a shoulder to cry on, or wanted to have a great time. She always wanted to do for others, but never wanted to be a bother or ask for help from anyone else. Her giving nature was demonstrated one last time with her decision to be an organ donor. She will be loved and missed always by her parents Billee and Rube Killman, sister and brother-in-law Jackie and Rick Phillips, brother and sister-in-law Lee and Ruth Killman, nieces Casey Phillips and Becky Ford, nephew Scott Killman, great-niece Abby Killman, close friends Annie Wigzell, Sharon and Shannon Baughmann, and her many other friends. She was welcomed to heaven by her nephew David Killman who predeceased her.
